Report a Polluter

Storm Water Report-A-Polluter Hotline
(260) 347-1362

The City of Kendallville works very hard to stay current with State of Indiana and Federal regulations regarding Storm Water Pollution Prevention, but we need your help.  If you notice a potential Illicit Discharge into a Storm Sewer or stream, please contact the Storm Water Illicit Discharge Hotline.

Examples of a reportable instance:

  1. Someone is observed dumping paint, used motor oil, any type of cleaner, animal waste, cooking oils / grease, insecticide / herbicide, fertilizer, etc. down any open grate or manhole located throughout our community.
  2. The erosion control at a construction site is non-existent or has failed, allowing sediment to enter a waterway.  Forms of erosion control might consist of fencing, catch basin inserts, grass strips, etc.
  3. Water quality of a waterway / ditch seems to be impaired.  This could be a visual observation such as color change - blue when the water is normally clear.  This would also include an observation of oil / petroleum products floating on the water surface.

Call (260) 347-1362 Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.  To report a pollution issue to the state, call IDEM's 24 hour hotline at (888) 233-7745.
