Can I place my shed in an easement?

Any non-permanent structure may be placed within an easement. However, any utility company who has the right to use the easement can remove the structure to maintain their utilities with the easement. They are not required to replace the structure after completing their work.

Where can I place a fence on my property?

Fences may be placed anywhere on your property up to your property lines. There is no required set-back for fences.

How long is a permit good for?

A permit is good for one year as long as work has started within six months of the date the permit was issued.

Do I need a permit to replace windows on my home?

A permit is not required to replace windows on a home unless you are increasing the size of the window.

Do I need a permit to replace my roof?

If you are simply replacing the shingles and / or sheathing, a permit is not required. If any roof structures (trusses) are replaced or installed, a permit is required.

Do I need a permit to replace the siding on my home?

A permit is not required to replace siding on a home.

Do I need a permit for a fence?

If you are replacing an existing fence right where it is currently, a permit is not required.  Otherwise, a permit is required.

Do I need a permit for a shed?

You need a permit to place a shed on your property regardless if it is on a permanent foundation or not.
